Smartbuilding cube berlin by 3XN

Orientation in the light of architecture

The intelligent architecture of the cube berlin inspires with an exciting kaleidoscope effect. The digitized "smart building" is a ten-story office building on Washingtonplatz directly on the Spree River, opposite Berlin's main train station. Designed by Danish architecture firm 3XN, it changes its appearance in the light of day. The individuality of the inwardly folded glass façade is continued in meng's exterior columns. As landmarks, their sleek appearance supports the geometry of the facade.

The powder-coated stele at the main east entrance of the cube berlin blends harmoniously into the building concept. The individual ground plan of an isosceles, acute-angled triangle easily allows a height of 2,800 mm. In addition to a tenant board, the monolithic stele also contains electronic built-in modules. In front of the gastro areas are smaller triangular stelae with a height of 2,250 mm, which also have electronic built-in modules and are intended for alternative tenant signage. The facade lettering is internally illuminated and of high quality.

In the entrance area of the main entrance there is a small stele of 1,500 mm height with a pushbutton for barrier-free access as well as a fire detector. The guidance system continues inside in the area of the elevators and includes foil texts, pass-through protection on glass doors and a series of quintessenz door signs on the individual floors.

In the underground parking garage of the Core, a comprehensive parking space signage system was implemented, which is partially wall- or ceiling-mounted. The ceform signage system was the obvious choice here, as it was also used for the escape route signs. The access to the underground parking garage as well as the signage of the exits complete the parking guidance system.
